This program provides business with short-term, interest-free working capital loans that are intended to “bridge the gap” between the time a major catastrophe hits and when a business has obtained additional resources that will allow them to recover.  Some of these additional resources include: sufficient profits from a revived business; receipt of payments on insurance claims; federal disaster assistance; lending from the small business administration or a financial institution.  Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loans require repayment by the approved applicant from longer term financial resources. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Assistance:  Small businesses, private non-profit organizations of any size, small agricultural cooperatives and small aquaculture enterprises that have been financially impacted as a direct result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) since Jan. 31, 2020, may qualify for Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred.  The SBA assistance is available to small businesses in the entire state of Florida including Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. These loans are being offered to for profits business at an interest rate of 3.75% for terms up to 30 years; for non-profits the loans are for 2.75% for terms of up to 30 years.
