I was just served with a summons and foreclosure complaint. What do I do?
After you been served, you only have 20 days to respond to the complaint, which means filling a motion to dismiss or an answer or a motion for more time to answer. You shouldn’t try to do this on your own. You should contact an attorney so that you can properly draft a motion to dismiss or an answer. They can also discuss with you what your options are going forward, which could include loss mitigation, loan modification or filling the action through litigation.
